Even if you decide to choose different pain killers, chances are that ibuprofen is still an active ingredient in the medicine. However, it doesn’t really cure the pain, it just provides a temporary fix and once the pain is back you just reach for more of it. Turmeric is a plant that comes from southern Asia, and it has been used in Asian medicine for thousands of years as nature’s painkiller.
It is a plant which is most commonly found in powder form as it is used as a spice as well. It is really rich in polyphenols and it is known to treat over 600 health problems.It can be found in almost every store as it is a commonly used spice because of it’s spicy flavour, but it can also be combined with other spices.

- 1 tbsp turmeric powder
- 1 cup of honey
- Juice of one lemon

The Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine published a study on the use of turmeric in treating osteoarthritis. It was conducted on 109 patients who suffered from knee osteoarthritis. During a six-week period, half of them received 800mg of ibuprofen and the other half received 2000 mg of turmeric.
After the six weeks passed, the patients that consumed the turmeric showed much better results when performing exercise such as riding a bike, walking and climbing up stairs.
