People of all ages are at risk of suffering from high blood pressure and hypertension at some point in their life, and research has shown that hypertension affects about 40% of adults over the age of 25. Garlic is very helpful in dealing with high cholesterol, high blood pressure, coronary heart disease, atherosclerosis, and reduced blood flow caused by narrower arteries. It’s medicinal properties have long been known and used to treat heart problems. It owes these healing properties to it’s active ingredient called allicin, which has a similar effect as that of hypertension medicine. Therefore, it relaxes the blood vessels, reduces LDL cholesterol and prevents angiotensin II from forming.
Cucumbers are very beneficiary to or health as they are very rich in water, fiber, magnesium and potassium. Potassium regulates sodium content in the cells, thus being one of the most useful minerals for the heart.
